Laura Leibold

I was born and raised in Germany, near Stuttgart. My passion and interest for learning other languages goes all the way back to my school days. I decided then to make this passion my profession. After spending one year working as an au pair in Florence, Italy, I started a degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. I had the opportunity to study two semesters abroad, at the University of Granada, Spain, and the University of Santiago de Chile. During the semester break, I collaborated with an NGO in Cuzco, Peru. I earned my degree in Translation and Interpreting in 2007. After spending one year in Australia working on a freelance basis for a translation company based in Sydney, I came back to Stuttgart, where I currently live and work.

Although my main area of expertise is in the technical field, e.g. automotive industry, mechanical engineering, energy, sustainable technologies and IT, I have also worked for customers in the political arena, and in the tourism and social sectors due to the proximity to major international companies based in the south of Germany.

The experience I have accumulated over the last 14 years as a German, English and Spanish translator and interpreter has not only nurtured the passion I have for my work, but has also contributed to keeping it stronger than ever.
